Panel 2 is quite the image to send off the year with
Buff Pest Sprout is not what I was expecting my year to end with.
But it’s not unwelcome.

i noticed something interesting. in panel 4, in the background there is a poster with 8 swords. Each has a different word next to it. The 1st, 3rd, 5th and 8th seem to align with the names of the demon swords. Given the 4 that I have mentioned, these 8 seem to correspond to the demon swords. 2nd has no name as it’s name was cut off or removed by the looks of it. the 6th is colored in with it’s name instead being ???, so it likely refers to Unspeakable Darkness, as her name was banished. Now number 4 is an interesting case, giving the pattern we discern so far one would assume he’d be omens but he is instead named dread. depsite this the connection isn’t hard to make due to the fact that Relentless Omens likely caused plenty of dread with his cruel nature and his mastery over curses. Number 7 is what intrigues me the most. it is named living. now that is an interesting circumstance. An comment on an earlier comic suggested that the 7th demon sword did not show up due to being dead or destroyed in some way. Personally, I think the naming of Living to the 7th sword more likely suggests a theory on the 7th annieversary page, that theory being that the 7th demon was used to create the world. another interesting thing to point out is how the 7th blade looks, it has 3 lines rather than the 2 that all but ??? have. It certainly seem deliberate but for what purpose. and of course, more questions arrise, why aren’t all the swords named after their respective demon, why is 2’s name removed and why does the adventure sword have this poster in his quest hut in the dream world?
