Reading this has just reminded me of a time, long ago, when playing a MUD, and I’d hired a bodyguard NPC, which I then ‘trained’ to a higher level than I was at, and then it auto-attacked a much more powerful NPC (one that players couldn’t normally attack), and died. When I rehired it, it was back to its default level. Such a waste.

OMG IT’S ADORABLE!

Also its new sword looks really cool.

(And also, is it just me or does the combination of shading and eye-glow in the last panel lend it a distinct resemblance to a certain particularly cool bespectacled deity?)
