This is tricky, like the opposite of the last round of magic items. However, there’s a solution here so let’s work backwards: 4 is actively detrimental, shortening your lifespan. 3 works basically once. 2 is somehow useless on land, and polearms are better underwater (magic item though so it might be good?). 1 is the best. It’s a sword in any situation, but has a bit of utility that can help regulate your diet AND light up a space given a lack of alternatives!

The shark sword has gills. Obviously, it can’t breath out of water.

If you stab and kill an unborn baby with sword 4, would you “gain” lifespan since people don’t start counting age until after they’re born?
