I think it just looks like that 'cos the scar happens to align with the tears around the eye hole.

Actually, toffee is it’s own candy, it’s boiled down butter syrup so that it’s hard, and nuts are often mixed in, but not always. If you’ve ever had a Heath candy bar, toffee is what’s in the middle.
