Maybe this is the D&D nerd in me, but I can instantly think of several ways in which that curse could be made extremely useful in the right circumstances.

Also where the hell is the sword tag?
Mainly various schemes of questionable alignment. E.g. use it for a whack-a-gnome game in a traveling carnival and collect the keys dropped by the patrons for effortless burglary.
