Swords | DCLXXXVII - The Dream Team

This is a companion discussion topic for the original entry at https://swordscomic.com/comic/DCLXXXVII/

Yes is a posses person?

Oh is just the character created the dream princess when it sleep

No. You were right the first time.
A sleeping Hash is being controlled by the Dream Princess.

Both Hash and Brad Nite (the fella possessed by the Demon of Eternal Slumber) have character descriptions that point out that they seem familiar. I wonder what that’s about…

Ohhh, that’s why the sword has two cross-guards! The Dream Princess holds one, and whoever she’s possessing holds the other!

Hash’s description has been updated. It now says she’s like a big sister to Quest Sprout, and that something seems familiar about her. I’m not sure if this is referencing the fact that she’s possessed by the Dream Princess or is maybe her avatar, or if it’s something else that will come up in future episodes.

What’s up with the Dream Princess, anyway? Is she Bograk’s champion that the Mysterious Man was talking about? If so, why does she have this weird cross-guard sword and not Bograk’s Hook?

Speaking of that, what even happened to Bograk’s Hook? Xiphos was holding Kargob’s Fang right before he disappeared but I don’t know what happened to Bograk or the other sword. I can only hope we’ll actually find out at some point, but given that The Dividing Cut is still unresolved and extremely confusing, I actually have no clue.

This is very irrelevant at this point.

The tattoo on Hash’s face might be a representation of there sword’s profile.

I totally did not see this coming at all!

I don’t know about Hash, but I’m pretty sure that Brad Nite’s character description says he is familiar because both his name and appearance resemble Bread Knight, but slightly altered.

If Brad Nite is a knockoff of the Bread Knight, I’m going to guess that Hash is a knock-off of Harpe. For, you know, thematic reasons.

Those are scars, not a tattoo.

Hash probably has a partner-in-crime call Slack.

I guess it’s possible that Hash is a Harpe knockoff… but imo Brad Nite has a lot more in common with Bread Knight than Hash does with Harpe.

Also I think I remember Brad Nite’s description saying he seemed familiar way before he was involved in this arc, but I think Hash’s only was updated with that recently.

True, I just couldn’t think of a better connection.

I’m a dingbat, sorry for misinforming you. I just checked Internet Archive and Hash’s description has been the same for over a year. There goes that theory

Then again, that means Matthew probably had Hash’s possession planned for over a year, which… I’m honestly not surprised about, because Pest Sprout was introduced over two years ago in The Dragon Hunt.

Also Hash’s scars are a stylistic representation of the Dream Princess’s sword.

Edit: Yeesh. Jonathundr already said this and I missed it. Sorry for stealing your… thunder *ba-dum tssss*

Her description says it’s a tattoo

Just wanna update this with a tidbit I found. On the Cut the Deck cards Matthew’s posted on his Instagram, every hero has a corresponding element. So, Bread Knight has fire, and Xiphos has dark, and Rapier Tapir has wind for… some reason… anyway Quest Sprout has the element of light, cementing the Bograk connection.
