What a jam! I suppose to escape they’d need to demonsterate their humanity somehow.
Where are the monsters that the former hero caught?
Maybe they escaped when he was caught, and maybe he can escape now that he’s called the young hero a monster.
I love how the word “murders” is just slightly red.

this remind me of that time there was an adventurer that sealed monsters but got trapped himself in that one comic before quest sprout was a thing

I think it’s more that the trapped monsters changed the sword’s definition of what a “monster” is, from someone who’s a member of a monstrous species to someone who does monstrous things (which would also explain why the previously imprisoned critters aren’t in there with him anymore). So, in order to get out, the former “hero” would now need to either change the sword’s mind again or show that he’s not a monster under the new definition.
