How does that work? Does it explode without reason, was it soaked in a potion, or is it just full of gunpowder.

Potassium.
When combined with water it explodes.

But potassium also explodes when exposed to oxygen.

Yes, and water is two parts oxygen.

What I’m saying is that it is not potassium, due to the fact that potassium instantly explodes on contact with either substance.
