Slaying a Sword Hydra with your bare hands is more badass than just slaying a Sword Hydra.

Ooh, as a martial artist, I truly cringe when I see the red knuckles. Killing a sword hydra is great conditioning, but not a lot of fun.

@FearTheFunfhander I imagine it’s like punching a makiwara, only instead of it being a stationary pole with rope around it, it’s something made of hard scales and presumably steel.

This seems like a reference to an easter egg in an early text-based adventure game, Colossal Cave. Generally you aren’t expected to answer rhetorical questions/snark in such games.
